Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop: Gourd Goodness

Hello and welcome to another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Gourd Goodness and Count My Blessings.
If you're already hopping, then you've just come from the Talented Maike Ulbrich's Blog. If you're just joining, No Problem! Start here and Hop around with the button below!

So as you can see, I'm sharing the stamp set: Gourd Goodness. I have to admit that this stamp set is not my style at-all.  I didn't give it a second look when I looked at the catalogue. Honestly, I barely gave it a first look and now, I LOVE IT! I know! I, myself, am shocked! I have had so much fun combining colours of ink, cardstock and layers together to create these amazing looking gourds that I can't get enough of it!

For today's project I have created a scrapbook page and have used the 2 leaf stamps in the set. As you can see, I used them in a simple way and a highly detailed way, but I love the look of both.

For my background leaves, I simply stamped the detailed leaf in 2nd generation Crumb Cake Ink (Stamped off), Easy Peasy.

For my accent leaves. I used a spectrum of  fall colour re-inkers and inks. Why re-inkers, you ask? Well... I didn't stamp the background leaf in one colour of ink pad. I made my own ink pad with baby wipes and stamped in a multitude of colours at one time. I thought this gave the leaves a natural look of changing colour. To finish off my leaves, I stamped the detailed leaf on top with a colour that suited it's colour combo. If the leaf was more green, I added the details in with Old Olive... more orange - I did Cherry Cobbler or Early Espresso. To finish them off I splattered them with Early Esspresso.

I love how realistic the leaf images are. They are absolutely perfect for any fall project and they really gave my page a feeling of being there, right in the middle of the leaf fun.

Thanks for hopping in today, I hope you like my project using the Gourd Goodness stamp set and for a full list of supplies, please see below. Up next is the Talented Mercedes Weber! Enjoy the rest of the hop.

Artisan Design Team:

  1. Clearly we need to hang out because I am not scrapbooking nearly enough!!! BOO!! Love this and love how the leaves of the picture are almost falling into the leaves on the perimeter of the page. :)

  2. You have captured those autumnal colours in the leaves perfectly with your stamping. It feels like you have pulled the leaves right from the photo!

  3. Love this page--especially how you used the leaf image for the background and as accents. The way you colored your leaves is amazing. When I first looked at the pile of leaves, I was trying to figure out if the were real or stamped. I just love them--will have to try this.

  4. Amaizing Martha!
The sheets look so real - WoW!
Aaand the layout is so terrific!
