Stamp Review Crew: Jar of Love
Jar of Love.
If you're already hopping, then you've just come from the Talented Bronwyn Eastley's Blog . If your just joining me, No Problem! Start here and follow the buttons below!
I'm sure by now, you've seen a ton of cards using the Jar of Love stamp set... Well, that's because it's awesome! (Psst... It also has coordinating framelits...Yep! Bundle!!!) I absolutely love all the creative possibilities, this set has.
For my card today, I focused on the firefly that is included in the set. I couldn't resist... I can remember catching them as a kid or sitting by the camp fire, watching them blink in the darkness. They seem so magical at times, and that's exactly the feeling I wanted to create on my card. I decided a shaker card would be a great way to portray that, and not because the fireflies could be flying around (in fact, mine don't. They are stationary), but because I could make it look like I captured a bit or their mystical aura too. I put in clear and white sequins from the Metallics Sequins Assortment (the stars and circles), and a couple of pinches of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter. It turned out exactly how I had hoped. The light randomly bounces off the sequin shapes and the glitter has that iridescent sparkle to it.
I cut the jar out with the coordinating framelits: Everyday Jars, and stamped the jar image onto a window sheet with Black StazOn ink. I coloured the fireflies with the coordinating markers, and the lid is stamped on Smokey Slate cardstock, with Smokey Slate ink.
I layered my image over Crushed Curry DSP from the Festive Birthday DSP.
The stamp set does have a coordinating greeting for the fire fly:"You light up my life"... But I really wanted to make this a card that could be given to a number of different recipients... that saying just sounds too romantic to me, so I used the Sunshine Sayings Bundle to add my greeting.
Thanks for hopping in, I hope you enjoyed my "Jar of Love" sample. Next up is the talented Mickey Roberts' Blog. Enjoy the rest of the hop!
