Fancy Folds Blog Hop: Peek-A-Boo Card

Hello and Welcome to another Fancy Folds Blog Hop! We are a team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators, who have come together to showcase different folding projects each month. Today our design team is excited to showcase the Peek-A-Boo Card!

If you're already hopping then you just came from the Talented Delphine Lorelli's Blog. If you're just joining me, no problem! Just use the "Next" Button below and hop all the way around!

So... I have to admit this fold was a little challenging... many of my attempts hit the craft room floor, but after playing around A LOT, I finally created a card that I'm happy with!

This is the video I watched to learn how to do the Peek-A-Boo fold. A few things I discovered, was that this fold doesn't really work horizontally and that your window can't be too wide. I'm sure you could alter the dimensions to allow it, but I wasn't about to open that can of worms!

*** Update by popular demand :) ***
I used the 2-1/2" x 1-9/16" oval from the Layering Oval Framelits. Or... too make it easier for those that own them: the 4th smallest one. I used the exact same measurements that Dawn used in her video. 5-1/2" x 6-1/8" scored at 4-1/4" and 5-1/2" x 11" scored at 3-1/2" and 7". As for tips and tricks... I don't really have any... Sorry... I really just followed Dawns instructions (but with a big shot).... OH! I did use washi tape to hold my framelit in place and I left the cover piece of cardstock on, when running it through the big shot to cutting the matching holes in the other piece of cardstock... I hope this helps. Happy Creating!

My card today features NEW stamp sets from the up coming, 2016 Holiday catalogue! Yes, you read that correctly and YES, you should be excited! It is FULL of amazing new product.

The Skeleton and Mummy images are from new the stamp set: Cookie Cutter Halloween and the ghoulish textures are from the new stamp set: Ghoulish Grunge (LOVE IT! A new texture MUST-HAVE!).

My colour combo is Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White and Sahara Sand. I stamped the spider web and cheese cloth textures in Versamark.

For my greeting, I used the stamp sets: Layered Letters Alphabet and the Labeler Alphabet. I stamped the large letters with Basic Black ink, onto Sahara Sand cardstock and then cut them out. I didn't even have to be that neat about it either!

To colour my skeleton and mummy, I used an Aqua painter and Sahara Sand ink pad.

I love how this card just "magically" changes images. My kids thought it was the greatest thing ever and I'm positive that this fold would bring a smile to any recipients face!

Thanks for stopping in today, I hoped you enjoyed my take on the Peek-A-Boo Fold.
