Stamp Review Crew: Flower Shop

Hello and Welcome to another Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop! This week's featured stamp set is: Flower Shop!

If you're already hopping, then you've just come from the Talented Heidi Bak's Blog. If your just joining me, No Problem! Start here and follow the buttons below!

Today I've combined the old with the new. I've used the Flower Shop  stamp set (old) with a new colour and new washi tape from the 2016-2017 Idea Book & Catalogue.

I embossed my flowers in gold embossing powder onto watercolour paper. (I took my picture with the gold shining.... I'm not sure that was the right thing to do.... hmmm...)

To colour them,  I used an aqua painter, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight ink pads. Once my flowers were dry, using the same method, (but with Mint Macaron ink) I coloured the background. Once the background was dried, I stamped the water splotches from the stamp set: Timeless Texture, in Mint Macaron Ink.

To finish everything off, I added a couple strips of washi tape from the "Affectionately Yours" pack  and mounted it onto Mint Macaron and Flirty Flamingo cardstock.

Thanks for hopping in today. Next up is the Talented Linda Callahan's Blog! Enjoy the rest of the blog and Happy Creating!

Fancy Folds: Center Step Fold

Hello and Welcome to another Fancy Folds Blog Hop! We are a team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators, who have come together to showcase different folding projects each month. Today our design team is excited to showcase the Center Step Fold card.

If you're already hopping then you just came from the Talented Delphine Lorelli's Blog. If you're just joining me, no problem! Just use the "Next" Button below and hop all the way around!

The video I watched for the Center Step Fold instructions, was for a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" card (a 5-1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock) It's a cute size but I hated the strip of cardstock left over, so I decided to take the technique and convert it to fit a standard size card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") and get 2 cards from 1 piece of cardstock. I started with a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock. (if you watch her video, you'll understand my instructions.) My slits are cut 3/4" in from the side (instead of 1").  I cut from 3/4" all the way down to 6-1/4" (Instead of 1" to 6-1/2"). My score lines on the strips are at 3/4", 1-1/2" and 6-1/4" (instead of 1", 2" and 6-1/2") and the center score line is the same at 5-1/2". Now you can get 2 cards from 1 piece of cardstock and... it will fit in a standard size envelope!

My card today features the stamp sets: Picture Perfect and Timeless Textures. I must admit that Picture Perfect isn't really my style of stamps (I acquired it through an error) and as much as I love the Timeless Textures, I struggle when using it. I'm just not good with randomness, vintage etc. But... I'm actually happy with how my card turned out!

If you've seen the Picture Perfect stamp set before, you know that the Humming Bird is actually 4 individual stamp images. For my bird I used Pear Pizzazz, Real Read, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry Ink.

My back ground is stamped in 2nd generation Sahara Sand ink.

My side bars are Rich Razzleberry cardstock stamped with Rich Razzleberry Ink and the bottom bar is Sahara Sand cardstock stamped with Sahara Sand Ink. Both using the Timeless Texture stamp set.

To finish my card off I added some Rhinestones and a little Linen Thread bow.

Thank you for hopping in today, I hope you enjoyed my take on the Center Step card. Next up is the Talented France Martin. Enjoy the rest of the Hop!
