Simply Sports: TGIF Challenge

Time for another TGIF Challenge! The TGIF Challenges Blog has a new challenge every week and if you couldn't already tell, I've been having a lot of fun playing along.

This week's challenge is #tgifc16 and is a sketch challenge. When I saw the "sun ray" sketch, I thought... star burst... fireworks... excitement... like when someone scores a goal and the crowd goes wild! SCORE! So out came my Simply Sports stamp set!

My colour combo is Whisper White, Basic Black, Cucumber Crush, Pumpkin Pie and Gold. I used Everyday Chic Washi Tape, Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Cotton ribbon, Gold foil sheets, Gold Metallic Thread, and Gold stars from Metallic sequins assortment.

I absolutely love the Gold foil cardstock, maybe not to photograph (LOL) but to craft with - defintitely! However, when putting it through my big shot with small or detailed thinlits, I tend to get the release hole markings as well... Do you have this problem? Well, I have a solution! Take your bone folder and burnish the top of your cut-out. Yep, just rub it flat! It doesn't completely eliminate the marks but it definitely improves them. See the "E" compare to the "O"... 10X better! Click on my card images for a larger view.
Well, thanks for stopping in. I hope you enjoyed my take on this sketch. Make sure to hop on over to the TGIF Challenges Blog: Challenge 16, to see more sketch inspirations!
Happy Creating!

  1. I absolutely adore this card. I think it's fun that the tape is like a net too. Every detail about this card is amazing. Thank you so much for playing with TGIF Challenges this week!

  2. The card looks absolutely amazing. I'm sure I would have had trouble thinking of an idea from a sun ray sketch, but you nailed it.
