Creation Station Blog Hop: Floral

Hello, and welcome to The Creation Station Blog Hop. For this week's hop we were given the theme: floral, the stamp sets: Flower Patch or Flower Shop and/or the product: Water Colour Paper and Blender Pens.

If you're aleady hopping, then you just arrived from the talented Jennifer Downey's blog. If you're just dropping in, No Problem! Just start here and hop on through following our Creation Station buttons.

For this week's hop, I decided to go with the floral theme and I couldn't resist playing with my new stamp set: Garden in Bloom. I really like this stamp set. Not only does it have a sketchy feel too it, it also has a water colour feel.

For my card today, I was trying to go for a soft and elegant look... I was originally going to reach for my Crumb Cake Cardstock, as it's always my "go-to" colour, but I stopped myself. I haven't ventured much with the new In Colours and I had a feeling Tip Top Taupe might be a good choice... and well, I think it was! (It might help that we have the BEAUTIFUL, dotted  Lace Trim, to co-ordinate with it.)

I stamped my flower in Tip Top Taupe ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. The petals and leafs are 2nd generation (stamped off) and then I stamped the sketchy image overtop. The splatters are from the stamp set: Gorgeous grunge, and are 2nd generation Crumb Cake Ink. For my background, I stamped 2nd generation Tip Top Taupe ink onto Tip Top Taupe cardstock. The center of my flower is So Saffron: 2nd generation.

To finish my card, I created a little bow using: unravelled: Very Vanilla - Thick Baker's Twine, Gold Metallic Thread and an Antique Brad. I love how it turned out and I really think it pulls my card together.

well, thank you for visiting and enjoy the rest of The Creation Station Blog Hop. Next up is the talented Kathy Kartak, enjoy!

  1. Gorgeous card, Martha. It looks very elegant in the Tip Top Taupe. I can't wait to get my set, so I can 'case' your card! :)

  2. Wow this is a really soft an elegant look. I love the colour arrangement and the combination of lace and the bow on your card. Thanks for sharing!
