Creation Station Blog Hop: Birthdays!

Hello and welcome to another Creation Station Blog Hop! We hop every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.

If you're already hopping, then you just came from the talented Jennifer Downey's blog. If you're just stopping in, No problem! Start here and hop on through, following the Creation Station's buttons!

This week's hop guidelines are:

Theme: Birthday!

Stamp Sets: Build a Birthday / Celebrate Today (* Edit * Apparently I'm losing my mind and now that the hop has gone live, I'm realizing that Celebrate Today was not one of the options! I swear I even double checked!?! Sorry!)

Tool: Punch boards!

So this week, I was able to include all 3 guidelines. Birthday theme - check. Celebrate Today - Check. Envelope Punch Board - check! Fun!?! Check, check check!

So I must admit, I think I played myself out of the Celebrate Today stamp set when it first came out as I struggled to create with it for this hop. I tried a ton of different ideas… which had merit, but I just couldn't execute any of them to my liking… Sometimes I wonder if working under pressure is a needed ingredient for my creativity… I worked all week on trying to create a project and be ahead of the game, but nope…the last possible night to create and I pop out a whole new idea! LOL

So we all know that the balloons in the set can be turned into hot air balloons… I've even seen them be turned upside down to be christmas ornaments… so in my desperation to create something, I looked at them and wondered if they could be anything else…

and A-Ha! Suckers, Lollipops! Why didn't I see it before! So off I went making Lollipops! With no ideal how I was going to use them! LOL

I wanted bright candy colours, so I pulled out Real Red, Pacific Point, Cucumber Crush and Daffodil Delight cardstock. On some of my Lollipops I stamped whisper white polkadots, However, I wasn't sure if they still looked like candy with them, so on the others, I just added a shadow crescent (self-made template, sponge daubers and coordinating ink).

To cover my "Lollipop" I used our clear envelopes. You can cover 3 lollipops with one envelope. I layered it over top and stuck it down on the back. I gathered the rest at the bottom and tied it with White Baker's Twine. The sticks are craft sticks that I found at the dollar store and I painted them white.

Now, what to do with these lollipops… Lol.
My original thought didn't work out, so a card it was! I tried a whole bunch of different designs but everything I did, took away from the lollipop. So I kept it clean and simple!

These are the 2 cards I created, but the possibilities for puny sayings is endless…
- Have a sweet birthday!
- you're my sweetie
- you're 40… Suck it up! Lol
What would you have put?

Well, thank you for hopping in, I hope you enjoyed today's creations. Next up is the talented Kathy Kartak. Enjoy the rest of the hop!
