Happy Mother's Day

Hello, and thank you if you're still with me. Before I start with my post today, I would like to apologize for my absence blog recently. Much like writers with writer's block, I seem to have lost my crafting mojo lately. Most of the time I'm a creating machine, but every once in a blue moon, I seem to fizzle out and need to step back. Do you ever get this way? But don't worry, I can't live without creativity and I know I'll be back in the swing of things soon, especially with the new catalogue, just around the corner ;) So on with today's post!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful women out there! I hope you are enjoying your day!

Today I'm sharing 1 of the 5 Mother's Day projects that I created for the Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog, using the stampset: Sweet Laughter!
Today's project is a gift box, all decorated up for mom! Everything is attached to the belly banned wrapped around the box, so all mom has to do is slip off the band to get into the package! (because we all know how mom wants to keep everything! ;) )

I really like how my "starburst-like" frame turned out and draws your eyes to the flower. I created it with the 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon (I Love this stuff!) I cut off one edge of the ribbon and removed all of the horizontal threads. Then I simply attached the other edge around the oval.

I also added extra dimension to my gift box by popping up the flower image with several layers. A lot of people don't like fussy cutting, but I do, and I love the effects it can produce.

Well, thank you for joining me today and make sure to check out the Scrapbooks & Cards Today Blog for all of the projects and a chance to win the Sweet Laughter stampset!
