Stamp Review Crew: Zoo Babies

It's the 3rd Monday of the month, which means Blog Hop time! On this hop, we are featuring the stampset (or digital download): Zoo Babies! I was excited for this one and can't wait to see what the other members have created!

My Apologies for being late with my post and thank you for your patience as I worked to complete my project. Better late then never... Right!?!

I don't actually own the stampset: Zoo Babies, so today I'm featuring the digital download of Zoo Babies! (sniff sniff... so sad MDS is retiring...)  One great feature of digital designing is that you're not limited to the size of your stamp! So I decided to make some framed art with Mr. Lion!

First I enlarged Mr. Lion and coloured him with the colour stamp tool and the free form tool. I added a great saying and then printed it out onto Whisper White cardstock. I could have left it there and framed it, but I wanted a little more texture and dimension to my art work. I wanted my lion to look a little more flustered and hairy, so I pulled out my Simply Pressed Clay! I dyed my clay with Soft Suede ink and then on another print out (so I didn't wreck the good version), I moulded it out to look like a mane and tail! No special techniques in this step, I just simply pressed some clay down and pulled at it, as I didn't want it to look perfect!

After I had it moulded out, I stuck it in the freezer for about 15 mins. This allows the clay to become firm or a little more rigid, which allows you to remove it off your paper (with a thin spatula) without stretching or loosing it's shape.  Then I placed it on top of some buttons so it could dry on both sides over night. Once it was dry, I attached it to my print out and layered another print out of his head on top. I then added a few embellishments and framed it!

Thanks for stopping in, I hope you like my project and enjoy the rest of your hop! Next up is the creative Wendy Weixler, or if you're hopping the other way, the creative Linda Callahan
Cheers!

  8. You should do everything you can to learn how your baby will develop. The better your understanding, the stronger your parenting skills will be.
