Stamp Review Crew: Sheltering Tree

March Already!?! Craziness! I guess I've been in Lala land.

Today is the 1st Monday of the month so it's Blog Hop time with the Stamp Review Crew! This week's feature stamp set is "Sheltering Tree". I can't wait to see what the other members have created. Enjoy the hop!

So I have to admit that I... kind of... procrastinated on doing my hop project.... so I have another clean and simple card for you... sorry, but I hope you still like it.
I've seen a lot of cute and beautiful cards with this stampset, I mean WOW! So I was feeling a little intimidate designing with it and of course I always want to do something different then what I've been seeing... So, I decided to go a little more stylized with my design. What do you think?

I love the detail of the tree versus the simplicity of the "Leafs".

I cut out my circles with the circle framelits and then swapped the colours to create one flat layer. I then stamped the tree on it with versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I added in the heart to give the card a contrasting element and focal point. I love how natural this card turned out.

So... today I'm actually sharing two cards on one post! Mainly, because people would probably think I'm crazy if I posted this next card on it's own, with no explanation on how it came to be! So... while I was creating my tree card, I kept seeing an object... and it wasn't just once that I saw it, No, It was several times! So... I just had to stop and run with the idea! When creativity calls... So what did I see?

An EYEBALL! Yep! an eyeball out of a tree... maybe I am crazy! Lol

What do you think? Am I stretching it a little?

Well, my son (4) thought it was hilarious! So I'm happy with that.
He even told daddy that he hopes mommy makes him an eyeball card! Looks like I'm back to the craftroom to make another one, so I have one for each boy!

Thanks for stopping in! Next up is the talented Beth Beard or if you're hopping the other way, the talented Holly Krautkremer! Enjoy!

  6. LOL - the eyeball cracks me up. I never would have thought of using the tree for that. I find simple cards are sometimes harder to do than more involved ones. These are great.

  12. Not crazy...creative. My sweet aunt Sue had that kind of vision. She's gone one, but I have wonderful memories of her and her artwork. Thanks for taking me on a walk down memory lane.
