Hostess Set: I Like You!

Don't you love how bright this card is? Doesn't it make you think of spring? I never would of thought to pair up Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi for a colour combo, but I quite like it!

Today's card features the stamp set: I Like You. This stamp set is a hostess set, which means, only hostess can purchase it with their hostess rewards. (I love doing parties, if you're in the London, ON. area, feel free to contact me to discuss having your own Stampin' Up! party!)

I like this card because it's clean and simple but also because it doesn't use too many accessories.

When searching around the web, you'll come across a ton of beautiful cards. You'll see a lot with this stamp set and that. With Designer Series Paper and ribbon and then a few rhinestones and maybe a couple of buttons... That's great and everything, but it can be a lot for someone just starting out. Sometimes it's nice to step back and return to techniques that help step up a card without needing every tool or embellishment in the world.

Today's card uses very minimal supplies: a stamp set, 2 inks, markers, cardstock, adhesive and some linen thread, that's it! (if you've ever seen a paper crafter's craft room, you'll know this is VERY minimal supplies)

To help step up my card I used a stamp image and designed my own background design... no DSP, no embossing folder, just ink and cardstock: something a beginner would have! I simply stamped my flower along the edge of the Wild Wasabi cardstock in Wild Wasabi ink and volia!

Happy creating!
