1st Day of School + MDS

As I mentioned yesterday, my baby started school... Well, thanks to pinterest and My Digital Studio, I was able to add a couple of creative touches to the occasion.

First I made a sign to use in his photos. There are a ton of ideas on Pinterest that I would've loved to have done, but since it was a last minute idea (the night before), I kept it simple.

I used the speech bubble punch from the Do Your Best Printables download and enlarged it to the size of my 8-1/2 x 11" paper size. I added in my wording with text (Fonts: Cinnamon Cake and Sketch Rockwell) and added a few stars (a basic punch) in for colour. I then printed my sign onto whisper White cardstock and cut out the bubble. For stability, I glued my bubble onto chipboard and cut it out again. This way my son could hold onto it and not crinkle it.

I'm happy to say it turned out perfect! The sign was not over powering and I was able to have him hold it and hang it. Just the way I wanted... well almost. I wanted to take pictures with my phone and my good camera, but Greyson wouldn't have it (he wanted to GO!) so I only got phone pics. But I'll take what I got!

Next I decided to take pictures with the full intentions of making a scrapbook page with writing down the side of it in MDS.

So when Greyson came home... "Why more pictures Mom?" Lol

Needless to say, this is why! How cute is he!?! Okay I may be bias, but oh well.
He did so well on his first day and I was so proud of him.

So... a lot of my friends knew that I wasn't looking forward to the first day of school... I'm a crier. I've tried my entire life not to cry in stressful times, but here I am 35 and yep... still a crier.  So I decided to join in on the fun when the day was said and done.

Mommy Survived the 1st day of Kindergarten too! Lol

For our pictures, I used the fonts: Orange Juice, Arial Bold, and DaddysGirl. I used the dot border from the Convention 2012 download.

Thanks for stopping in and
Happy Creating Today!
