Seeing Gold.

Are you seeing gold lately? Apparently it's all the trend right now and OF COURSE Stampin' Up! has it covered. Have you seen all of the gold products in the Occasions Catalogue? There is a lot and they're really fun! Wish I had more of them!

My card today shows you the Gold Foil Sheets and the Gold Sequin Trim. I'm really glad I purchased these as they really brighten up a card!

My card today was designed to co-ordinate with my stamped saying: Life doesn't have to be perfect to be Wonderful, from the stamp set: Perfect Pennants.  I crinkled my edges, I stamped splatters, and I snipped my Burlap ribbon to be uneven... so my card wouldn't be perfect ;)

I embossed the splatters from the stamp set: Gorgeous Grunge, onto my Gold Foil Sheet using Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder. I think this looks really neat! The foil sheet did curl a little while embossing but nothing damaging.

I cut out my saying (stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Baked Brown Sugar ink) with the Circle Framelits and stuck my 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon behind it. To get the starburst effect with my ribbon, I simply cut off the one side of my ribbon and pulled out the horizontal strings before applying.

My little striped pennant (stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Crisp Cantaloupe ink) was created with the "Hearts a Flutter" stamp set and "Hearts a Flutter" Framelits.

For some extra little touches I added a little Crisp Cantaloupe Heart, some pearls and the beautiful Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

  1. you are sharing a nice version; I'm using the similar idea for our neighbour's daughter, graduating from UNB in May; I think it'll make an awesome card, for this type of grad......thanks for sharing your card.
