You're How Old?

Hello Everyone! Did you survive the snow yesterday? SIGH... Is Anyone else a little frustrated with mother nature? Tuesday was beautiful and everything was melting... and then wednesday comes and... SNOWSTORM! Ugh! It totally botched up our plans for the day!

Well today I'm sharing a cute and funny birthday card! I don't usually like to give birthday cards that pokes fun at ones age, as you never know if the recipient is sensitive to it, but in this case It's more of joke than an insult. The card is for my friend Marja and she is the "baby" of our group of friends. The rest of us are in our 30's, 40's and 50's but Marja is lucky enough to still be in her 20's!
When I first started my card, I was making the pom-poms for the tops of party hats... but it just wasn't working. I then remembered how my friend Anne and I were talking about these cute little guys, just that morning, and thought..."Why couldn't I make them 3D with pom-poms!!!

I saw these super cute guys on pinterest. They're created using the stamp set: Simple Stems! Is it bad that I want to buy this stamp set, JUST to stamp these guys?

I created my pom-poms with the twine from the Sale-a-Bration Item: Sweet Sorbet Accessory Kit. I love this twine. The eyes were created out of Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock and were punched out using the Owl Punch. My greeting is from the "Just Say'n" Bundle, and is stamped in Black Stazon ink. The DSP is from the Sweet Sorbet DSP pack, which is also a Sale-a-Bration item. Everything is mounted on Basic Black cardstock and a Whisper White Note Card.

I think my little guys turned out cute and my son thinks they're funny (I might just make a few for him to play with)! If you need help making the pom-poms, check out Heather Summer's great tutorial!

Have a great day! and happy creating as always!
