Omigoodness! This week has completely flown by and this weather is NOT Helping! (but I'm not complaining!) I've had this card to share since Tuesday but Instead of sitting down and posting it, I've been spending the entire days outside with my boys!

I've been a SU demonstrator for almost 8years, but only as a hobbyist. I'm new to trying to make a business of it and I must admit I'm struggling with it. I have tons of class ideas and design ideas, but I'm struggling with time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't have time, as I'm a firm believer, that
if there is something you truly want to do, you'll find the time to do it. My Husband has been a great help and I'm doing more then I have in a LONG time. But I'm struggling because of my kids and not in a bad way. I love my kids. Matthew is 1 and Greyson is 3 and as they grow, I'm seeing how quickly time goes by. I fear the day that my sons no longer needs mommy's hugs or snuggles and the day I'm no longer the centre of their world. I have read many good articles and unfortunately some sad ones that have made me realize that we need to stop and enjoy the moments. I don't want my kids to think my laptop is more important or that I don't have time for them. So I hope you know, that when I don't post everyday, it's not because I'm not organized or that I don't care, It's because my family has come first and I hope you will respect me for that. Can anyone relate to this?

Anyways enough of me spilling my heart out and onto todays card. Here is another quick and simple card to create using your left over scraps! Once again, I only have DSP pads this year, but can you imagine this card with fancy colourful DSP!?!

This card took no time at all to create and the hardest part was stamping my greeting straight, which was only because I was too lazy to pull out my Stamp-ma-jig! Lol! Even creating the pennants were easy as I used my 1" square punch to create them!

Thanks for stopping buy and reading my little emotional blurb. I hope you have a great day and happy creating!

Did you miss Take 1 for using up your scraps? Check it out here!

  1. Hey Martha! I understand completely! Do what you've gotta do. You are incredibly talented and I can't wait to get to know you better at Convention. I love seeing your blog posts and will take them whenever you are able to post. Spend time with those boys!!

  2. Martha, I have two grandsons the same age as your sons, and although I don't see them every day, I try to be a part of their lives a couple times a week. So I have exactly the same feelings about seeing them grow and knowing it won't last. Never apologize for the time spent with them, and don't feel guilty. The memories you build now can never be duplicated later on (until the grandkids come along!!). Have fun.

  3. I totally agree. I, too, am a hobbyist, but only for a year now. I tried having workshops, but there doesn't seem to be enough time. I work part-time, have a husband, 3 sons and 3 grand children. I guess I will have to keep buying the things I want until I retire!
