Happy Halloween!

Are you ready for tonight? I am, even though I don't do very much. I don't generally get many trick or treaters. I have a long pathway up to my front door, I'm the last house on the street, across the road, on a corner by it's self with no sidewalks and on top of all that my outside lights and front foyer lights don't work. But every year I'll get one or two younger trick or treaters before it gets dark, so I always make sure I have a little bag of candy on hand for them.

Well I put my Pumpkin Photo Booth design to good use. This year my little Trick or Treaters will be getting their candy in one of these cute little sourcream containers that I designed in MDS2. You can make 4 packages out of one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and if you get it printed at staples it only cost you 39 cents a sheet! So...when someone just rips it open, you won't cringe because each package only cost 10 cents a piece! (Anyone who has ever made packages out of Designer Series Paper, knows exactly what I'm talking about!)

Isn't this a Fabulous Idea? Well, I would like to say I came up with it... but I didn't. My super talented up-line, Heather Summers did and she was so nice to share the idea in her Simply MDS2 on-line class. Thanks Heather!

So, Happy Halloween, drive carefully, watch for children and keep your little pets in tonight!

Hmmmm.... I guess I need to come with a new blog design tonight!

Simply Stars Halloween Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Simply Star's Blog Hop! I was super excited when it was decided that Halloween would be the theme of our hop as I knew exactly what I was going to do. I love making Shadow Box Art in My Digital Studio, but I had yet to make a Halloween one.
So...
Here it is, my Halloween Shadow Box!

I'm really happy with how it turned out.
I was able to pop up a lot of little elements, which, of course is my favourite part!

I hoped you like my Halloween Project.

Hmmmmm....Decisions, Decisions...

So the other day, Stampin' Up! released an interesting download.  It consist of 4 masks with accents that  you can quickly print off and Voila! you have a quick little costume mask.  I thought this was a cute idea,  for Hallowe'en or for kids playing dress-up.

I was trying to think of different ways that i could use these masks, when it hit me: "why can't  I use them like photo stickers!?! " Well my son Matthew fell victim to my creative idea. What do you think?  The funny part is... Matthew is actually going to be a Super Hero for Hallowe'en!

This week's challenge on My Digital Studio.net is anything Hallowe'en! Check out all the great entries and maybe find the inspiration you need to get your Hallowe'en groove on! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Creating!

Matthew, 6 months

Here is Matthew's 6 month scrapbook page. I designed it using the scrap map provided by Stampin' Up! for this weeks, My Digital Studio challenge. I love it, but I must admit that I did struggle with the messy look.

This page uses a lot of components from the Epic Overlays download. I actually avoided purchasing it for the longest time, for fear of not being able to use it, but after seeing so many wonderful samples, I finally broke down and got it and I am so glad I did!

For more inspiration on this layout, head over to My Digital Studio.net and check out other people's entries for this weeks challenge.  Thanks for visiting and happy creating!

Shape Crop an Embellishment!

Another MDS2 update was released a couple of days ago and after installing it I noticed a new little button in the crop embellishment window..... Crop Shape... Really??? Really!!! Oh my goodness, this was just so exciting to me! I can crop any embellishment with any punch shape! Love it! I Immediately knew what embellishment I wanted to play with. The designer rosettes are beautiful on their own, but upon discovering the crop function, I automatically thought butterflies or snowflakes and with the holiday season just around the corner, I went with the snowflakes!

This week's My Digital Studio Challenge was to design something using any of the downloads released in September. Done and done :)
