Oh look! It's Father's Day this week-end!

So even with my daily murmured reminders to myself, once AGAIN a special occasion has snuck up on me. How does it do that!?!  I'm sitting here, only days away from Father's Day, going..."Crap! what do I do?" In my perfect world I would sit down with the kids and make something cute and amazing. but just thinking about getting my toddler to sit still for 2 seconds, before he starts running around with whatever mess I've gotten him into is tiring me out. Then of course, there is also the trying task of getting a perfect result, (what can I say? I'm a perfectionist) So it needs to be quick and easy... AKA computer friendly!
I had these 2 cute ideas (see links below this sentence) pinned on my pinterest board and since our family is now complete, I knew that this is what I wanted to do.

I really liked the idea of the "song" in the one idea, but I LOVED the saying in the other. So I decided to change things up a little and combined them both into once piece.
I love how "k-i-s-s-i-n-g" ends up between my husband's and my birth dates.  The sentence "First comes love." doesn't really work with the dates but I think it still works with the piece.  I then incorporated the beautiful saying "What a difference a day makes!" In a repeated border around the edge. I bolded one of the sentences at the bottom to make the saying stand out a little more.

Off to the printers, + a few actual craft materials and Voila!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time, Happy creating!

  1. I love this!!! Love the big bold graphic numbers. Reminds me of the subway art that's become popular. Shannon
